Viral Teacher Who Sewed Pupil’s Uniform Speaks

EDUCATION: Despite teachers being on the academic civil society’s radar over corporal punishment for the past three months, Kenyans in unison have praised a primary school teacher for sewing her pupil’s school uniform.
Madam Joyce Malit a teacher at Siyiapei Primary School in Narok County, was in class when she she spotted one of her female pupil going home with a torn uniform.
The uniform torn apart at the buttocks, was exposing the grade 3 pupil’s body to the public making her feel naive in walking in company with other pupils.
Feeling the motherly heart, she released her pupils out from the class as she call out the pupil in class and sew her uniform.

” I saw the girl’s uniform torn apart at the behind exposing her body and what I did, I released my pupils out for a while and sew the pupil’s uniform. I never lack a needle and a thread in my purse ” she tells Billy O’clock.
When sewing the uniform, Madam Joyce was with her colleague in class and never knew the colleague was taking pictures.
“As you look at the picture, I was much concentrating on the uniform not knowing my colleague was taking pictures” she discloses.
On the trending picture, Ms Malit is seen seated on a chair and on the table, holding a needle sewing through the uniform.
Beside her, a beautiful small girl covered with a leso was standing ; one may not be deceived to say something strange was racing in her head.
Perhaps, she was thinking about life at home and maybe what she has been going through in the hands of her friends as she showed up in a torn uniform.
However, according to Ms Malit, despite knitting the pupil’s uniform, her parent never came to appreciate but woke up on Monday morning on messages and calls from the public appreciating her kindness.
“I just bumped on messages on my Facebook and calls from unknown people appreciating me. But before that, I never imagined I would touch the public in this manner , neither did I intend to post on social media. It’s my colleague who did” she adds.
Following the trend, Ms Malit is happy for the congratulatory messages from the public and looks forward to seeing it reach the education CS Ezekiel Machogu na Nancy Macharia.
“ I am so happy for public appreciation and I desire that it reaches CS Machogu and Nancy Macharia” Ms Malit’s desire.
Kenya’s celebrated cop Sammy Ondimu has joined the public in congratulating Ms Malit by sending her money to buy a new uniform for the pupil.
“I got in touch na mwalimu. Atamnunulia nyingine mpya leo hii. Thanks.. Though kuna wakenya bado wanaishi world yao.. Questioning mbona akapiga picha.. Sometimes such pictures husaidia sana watu kujua situations pale outside. Usiwe yule wa kujudge kila kitu. Be blessed” says Ondimu.
Further, Mr Ondimu has noted that the public shouldn’t always be focusing on the negative sides of teachers or people but also look unto the positive sides.
“Ingekuwa mwalimu alishikwa kwa camera akimchapa mtoto ingetrend haraka. Now some keyboard warriors are busy asking mbona akapiga picha. Let’s appreciate kazi mzuri..good job madam Joyce Sempela Malit. Kindly get her uniform mpya end month namnunulia kiatu pia. Usife moyo with negative messages…” Ondimu adds.
