Cristiano Ronaldo Eyeing Return To England
Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly unhappy with life in Saudi Arabia with his club, Al-Nassr.
After Ronaldo’s sensational transfer to Al-Nassr in January, the team has seen its advantage at the top of Saudi Arabia’s top league disappear in recent weeks. They are currently three points behind Al-Ittihad, the league’s best team, who dropped their game at the top on Thursday.
Ronaldo has scored 12 league goals in 15 games; however, this corresponded with a drop in performance as Al-Nassr lost first place and was ousted from the Saudi Arabian Cup.
It was reported earlier in the season that Ronaldo would return to play for Newcastle should they qualify for the Champions League, something that is more likely now.
Speaking on Friday, Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe insisted the club would bring in the right players.
“We have to bring the right people and the right players into the group. I will say that the transfer market is such a complex decision. You can’t just pick a name and bring them in; there’s got to be a lot of thought that goes into what we’re doing, both financially and looking at the players.” He said.
