Jamal Murray Leads Denver Nuggets In Beating The Suns
The Denver Nuggets defeated the Phoenix Suns 125-107 in game 1 of the second round of the NBA playoffs.
Jamal Murray led the top-seeded Nuggets by scoring a game-high 34 points in his performance for his team. For Denver, Nikola Jokic, who has won the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award the last two years, had 24 points and 19 rebounds, while Aaron Gordon had 23 points.
Devin Booker added 27 points to Kevin Durant’s 29 points and 14 rebounds for Phoenix in the defeat. Deandre Ayton added another 14 points.
Speaking after the win, Jamal Murray was happy with his performance. “Those moments you dream of as a kid… you live for those moments.” He said.
Kevin Durant admitted he needed to play better in Game 2 for the Suns to win.
“I slipped a couple of times, I threw a couple of bad passes, I only had one assist, and I had seven turnovers. You’re not going to win basketball games like that,” Durant said.
“I’ve got to be way more careful with the ball. I’ve got to either look to shoot the ball or make the correct pass. I put that on me — just keeping the ball in my hands and not trying to make the home run play.” He concluded.
Game 2 will be played on Tuesday morning, and the Suns will look to even the tie in Denver.
