42 Students Injured In Terrible Truck Accident
There was panic in Soroti District after a truck ferrying students overturned injuring at least 42 students on board.
According to East Kyoga regional police spokesperson Ageca Oscar, at around 4:00 PM, the driver of the Fuso truck, registration number UBE 899C that was transporting students back for holidays from Arengesiep Secondary School, Nabilatuk District in Karamoja lost control and overturned in Gweri Sub county.
Eight female adults, seven male adults, 17 female children, ten male children narrowly survived the terrible accident but were injured. Police managed to rush to the scene and were able to have all the injured victims transported to Soroti Regional Referral Hospital for medical attention.
Ageca also revealed that the vehicle that was involved in the accident was towed to Soroti Central Police Station for further inspection.
