99-Year-Old Woman Commits Suicide

Residents in Kimanyilo Village, Namutumba District were left shocked after they discovered the body of 99-year-old woman who had committed suicide by hanging.
The deceased, Bulandina Kizile’s lifeless body was discovered by a neighbor who did not see her seated outside her house just as she had been doing for the past years. She was found hanging from her roof with a waist band tied around her neck.
According to the neighbors, the deceased was staying alone after losing all close relatives. She survived at the mercy of well-wishers who always provided for food and basic necessities.
Although she was alone, she managed to keep happy and warmly welcome anyone who visited her home, something that made locals not to suspect that she was going through a rough patch.
The village woman councilor Tebigwayo Sylvia praised the deceased’s open mindedness and ability to offer counsel to both the young and the old folk who turned up at her home. The residents came together and offered to grant her a decent burial as she was a friend to many.
Busoga East police spokesperson Nandawula Diana confirmed that the body had been taken to Lvukula Health Center III for a postmortem before being handed over to the community for burial.
