Kisii Teacher With Fake Documents Charged In Court

EACC Detectives in Kisii on Thursday arrested a primary school teacher for forging his academic certificates and presenting them to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in 2007 to secure a job.

 

 

The suspect identified as Isaiah Okombo Otieno alias Duncan Ochoi Magero who was nabbed at Nyakeyo market in South Mugirango was also charged with other seven counts amongst them being personation of a person named in a certificate contrary to section 384 of the Penal Code.

 

“In securing employment as a PI teacher, the suspect presented to Teachers Service Commission a document namely, Kenya Certificate of Primary Education Serial No. 1008541, a lawfully issued document to Ochoi Daudi Magero by the Kenya National Examination Council and falsely presented himself to be the said Ochol Daudi Magero,” EACC claimed.

 

 

Others being Providing false information to a person employed in the public service contrary to section 129(a) of the Penal Code and Fraudulent acquisition of public property contrary to section 45(1) (a) as read with 48 of the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act, 2003.

 

 

However, the suspect appearing before Magistrate W. Kugwa, the suspect pleaded not guilty to the offences.

 

 

He was released on a bond of Kshs. 700,000. The case will be mentioned on April 25.
