Bishop Excludes Son From Sharing Church Collection
Dr. Paul Samson, bishop; Busoga Diocese has excluded his son Festus Joel from sharing sh 1.1M church collection from congregation of worshippers on Easter Sunday at Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe in Jinja City.
On Easter, the reverend told the congregation that most of the church’s instrumentalists are jobless despite devoting themselves towards God’s work.
According to the clergy; instrumentalists at the church are not paid even a penny though some have tarmaked in search of jobs without a success.
Following the case, he urged the congregation at Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe to do a contribution towards the instrumentalists.
” We have christians in our midst who are struggling with rent and others have not afforded a kilogram of meat this Easter but I request those who have, to join me in raising some money for our instrumentalists players ” the clergy requested.
His son Festus Joel Mudumba one of the instrumentalists at the church, the clergy admitted before the congregation that won’t get even a penny.
To him, he did so to avoid allegations from the congregation who may claim he was collecting money in favour of his son.
“ I don’t want to say that I am championing in favour of my son. He won’t take a penny but let’s stand with the rest of the players” he admitted.
During contribution, the clergy gave out a half a million shilings which was added on by the congregation reaching sh 1.1 Million.
