Mother Found Mysteriously Dead In Her Unfinished House
A woman has been discovered dead in her house under mysterious circumstances.
The deceased, identified as 28-year-old Sharifah Nakyeyune, a resident of Nakalama, had just returned from Qatar where he had gone to work. According to the neighbors, the mother of one was alive and healthy and interacted normally with them the previous day.
They were however shocked to wake up to the news of Nakyeyune’s demise. She is presumed to have died at around midnight because her body was discovered very cold and her neck stiff.
The neighbors were alerted of Nakyeyune’s death by her child who woke up and tried to call her unresponsive mother to take her to school.
“When the child reached out to the mother, she was unresponsive. She opened the door and called Shamim, the neighbor who confirmed that she had already passed on,” Mugwanya Muzamir, one of the neighbors who responded to the alarm, said.
The house where the deceased was staying with her child was unfinished. The rooftop area above their bedroom was open with nothing to shield them.
The body was handed over to the police and it was taken to Iganga Hospital for postmortem to identify the cause of death.
Busoga East police spokesperson Diana Nandawula confirmed Nakyeyune’s death and revealed that investigations would commence immediately.
“Postmortem will confirm to us what caused her death but at the moment, we are looking at it as a natural death. But this does not stop the post mortem from being carried out because it will help us get the scientific report,” she said.
