Missing 8-Year-Old Girl Rescued From Sexual Abuser After Four Months
A man has been arrested in connection with the kidnap of an 8-year-old girl who disappeared from her parents’ home in Kasokoso, Namugongo.
The child whose identity has been concealed disappeared on 6th December, 2022 and the suspect now identified as James Luyombya singled out the child from a group of friends and lured her into following him to pick a package for her mother.
After four months of her disappearance, the parents of the toddler received a phone call from an unknown person who offered to take them to where their daughter was being kept. Little did they know that the supposed good Samaritan was Luyombya, the culprit behind their daughter’s disappearance.
“He took us deep into Makulubita Village, Luwero District. He is the same person that took us to the police to get the policemen that helped us find our daughter. It was at this time that we were told that the person that has been moving with us was responsible for our daughter’s disappearance,” the toddler’s mother Joan Nansuguga revealed.
Nansubuga narrated the agony that her family was going through ever since they got the news of their daughter’s kidnap.
“We have never rested. We have seen no peace ever since our girl disappeared. We have been in so much pain and agony,” she said.
Deputy Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigirye confirmed the unfortunate events and revealed that the child was rescued in the staff quarters at a primary school in Luweero.
“We found her in the quarters where she was being hidden. This man was raping the child every day and I think he got to the point when he could not do it anymore and decided to alert the parents of the child,” he said.
Luyombya was arrested and is currently under custody at Kira Division police.
