Family in Kasese Municipality is mourning the death of their second child just three days after surviving the terrible accident that claimed the life of his sibling.
It is reported that the 6-year-old Bwambale Miraj had initially survived the motorcycle accident that occurred when a rider was taking him alongside his two siblings to school on 28th March, 2023.
According to the children’s mother Kabugho Meresi, on the fateful day, the cyclist picked them up as usual at around 6:00 AM. As she was going about her business attending to her garden, someone called to inform her that the children had been involved in a ghastly accident.
According to eyewitnesses, the cyclist swung into the road as he was approaching Kyababinga road on Kasese-Mbarara Highway but crashed into the canter track that was coming towards them.
They were rushed to Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital but unfortunately one of the children identified as Biira Shillah 3, had already passed on. Bwambale died three days later from the critical injuries sustained during the accident.
The officer in charge of the road traffic at Kasese Police Division, Amutuhire Alex attributed the accident to poor road use.
