Catholic pontiff, Pope Francis has been admitted in Gamelli Hospital in Rome Vatican following respiratory illness.

 

According to BBC, Vatican has reported that the 86- year-old’s unhealthy issue is anti-covid related and will spend some days in the hospital for medication.

 

Ahead of the busiest Easter, Pope Francis is expected to lead several sermons and activities as per catholic doctrines.

 

The pontiff in 2021 underwent colon surgery and has been doing well until January 2023 when he disclosed the condition had returned.

 

 

Pope Francis is touched by the many messages received and expresses his gratitude for the closeness and prayer and he will need a few days of appropriate hospital medical therapy” Vatican statement read.

 

Before getting admitted in Gamelli Hospital over respiratory problem, the pontiff presided over a weekly general audience in St Peter’s Square on Wednesday but later was seen struggling to enter his vehicle.

 

According to BBC, the pontiff had mobility problems related to knee forcing him to use a wheelchair.
