Policewoman Shot And Killed By Lover
The late Caroline Komuhangi was shot and killed by civilian lover
Police in Kabale District are investigating the death of a 23 year old policewoman who was reportedly shot by her civilian lover.
According to the police report, the deceased PC Komuhangi Caroline attached to Kabale Police Field Force Unit met her fate on Sunday morning at her home located at the barracks. Before the fateful day, Caroline allegedly signed for her gun and reported for night duty at around 6PM.
After she retired for home at 6AM on 19th March, she was involved in an argument with her lover identified as Arinaitwe Denis.
“As Caroline tried to escape, the man friend picked up her gun, thereby shooting her one bullet from the back and other two on the shoulder, killing her instantly.” Kigezi Region police spokesperson Elly Maate confirmed.
It is further reported that shortly after committing the crime, Denis tried to take his own life by shooting himself in the nose but was quickly arrested by neighborhood policemen and was taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital to treat his injuries.
According to Maate, police recovered the exhibit of blood stained riffle and gun cartridges and opened up a murder case at Kabale police station. The body of the deceased was also taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem.
