Nzoia Sugar, Gor Lead In FKF Premier League Title Race

Nzoia Sugar maintained their position at the summit of FKF Premier League with convincing victory against Nick Mwendwa’s Kariobangi Sharks in Round 15 action at the Utalii Grounds, Nairobi.

 

Sharks opened the scoring chat in the night minutes courtesy of Keith Imbali scoring in the 9th minute.

 

In the second half, the Bungoma Based Club took control of the match through a Joseph Mwangi back to back goals in the 50th and 53rd minutes. Sharks defender Timothy Imala scored an own goal to put the match beyond his team.

 

Elsewhere Gor Mahia won against stubborn Tusker 2-1 in an entertaining at the MISC Kasarani.

 

Sydney Ochieng opened the scores for Kogalo in the 31st minute before Shami Mwinyi equalized with a curling free-kick past Gad Mathews.

 

Benson Omalla scored the winning goal through a penalty in the 84th minute, taking his goal tally to 12.

 

Gor Mahia remain second a point behind the league leaders with one round left in the first leg of the league.

The Green Army are now 2 with 30 points.

 

In another match,  Mathare United clawed a precious victory beating Vihiga Bullets 1-0 while KCB climbed to third after dispatching Sofapaka with an identical margin.
