Man With ‘Penis’ On His Face Relieved From Shame
Conrado Estrada, 58-year-old man who had a penis on his face has a reason to smile after receiving free surgery under Little Baby Face Foundation, in New York.
Estrada had suffered uncommon condition called rhinophyma for over 20 years resulting to low self-esteem and fear to walk in public without a mask.
In an interview with New York Post years back, Estrada says the growth on his nose had grown up to his lips making him struggle during eating. Further say, his children could occasionally ask their mother what had happened to him.
“My children could look at me and ask their mother what happened to me and I could cover myself with a mask to avoid more contradictions ” discloses Estrada.
When painting the house of Dr. Thomas Romo where he had been casually employed, Dr. Romo saw his face condition and assured him of free medication under his foundation.
Conrado say, he felt happy for the opportunity and felt Dr. Romo was God sent in his life.
“I believe God sent an angel to take care of me” Conrado refers to Dr. Romo
” I saw this gentleman landscaping in my backyard when I noticed his severe case of rhinophyma. I introduced myself and offered to correct his facial deformity to which he happily accepted” narrates Dr Thomas Romo, Plastic Surgery expert based in New York, US.
Estrada in 2021 booked for surgery which Dr. Romo says took three and a half hours to make Conrado Estrada walk in public without fear.
“After removing the excess growth, I re-shaped his nose and applied sterile bandages. He was thrilled and thankful. There is no better satisfaction than being able to use my specialty and skill to improve another person’s quality life” Dr Romo narrates.
According to British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) Rhinophyma is a condition mainly seen in people who have rosacea, a rash that can affect the cheeks, forehead and nose and is most common in fair-skinned men aged 50-70.
Conrado had sought medication for six years before meeting Dr. Romo and had lost hope in getting medication to his severe condition on his nose.
After offering the free surgery, Dr. Romo posted on his Instagram page feeling delighted about the operation by ensuring his client live happily.
“My patients are my priority. That is why I see ALL my post-op patients for ALL of their post-op appointments. Never substituted with a nurse or assistant” says Dr. Romo a surgeon at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.
