“Alikunywa Pombe ya Ksh 8K”: Mukangai Recounts Embarrassing Moment With Varsity Girlfriend
Mukangai said he was hurt for paying Ksh. 8,000 alcohol bill his girlfriend had taken/ courtesy.
Sports presenter Stephen Mukangai recounted an embarrassing moment when his university girlfriend took alcohol worth Ksh. 8,000 on their first date.
Speaking to Mbaruk Mwalimu, the presenter said the varsity girlfriend he met on Facebook embarrassed him around 2024/ 15 when he was yet to marry.
Mukangai said when he planned for a physical meeting with his girlfriend and directed her to look for a place to rest until he finished his work, she took alcohol worth Ksh. 8000.

“Nikiwa kazini pale highway, nikamwambia afike, na kutafuta mahali aketi na kutafuta hata kama ni kinywaji kisha nikimaliza kazi, nitampata huko.
“Akili zangu bwana huyu ni mtu mzima labda amekunywa soda, Del monte aaah, hiyo Ksh.200 au Ksh 300 umelipa. Baada ya shughuli nikamwambia nipo mahali fulani sasa labda nimtumie Ksh 500 alipe, jamaa mtoto ananiambia bill ni Ksh. 8000.” He recounted.
Mukangai said that after he finished work and decided to send her Ksh 500, perhaps to clear the bill, he was shocked after the lady told him she had taken alcohol worth Ksh 8,000. Since he was broke, he asked for help from friends through treacherous ways to clear her bill.

“Wakati huo sielewi chochote kwa sababu mimi si mlevi wa pombe. Yeye ananiambia amekunywa JD na mimi JD najua ni Job Description ya kazini. Ndiyo baadaye kumbe anamaanisha ni Jack Daniels.
“Mimi kati yangu na umaskini nilikuwa na kama Ksh 2, 800, kula chakula, labda kulipia stadium na Ksh. 500 nauli yake. Ilibidi nipige simu hata Amope nilimpigia simu. Nilichanga changa nikalipa lakini ni picha ambayo kila nikiangalia huwa najidharau sana.” He added.
Although he cleared the bill, he didn’t do anything after they met since he was hurting internally. However, he advised people to order what they can pay for on a date or at any meetup.
“Alivyokuja tukakutana, nilikuwa nimevimba kama hamira. Nilikuwa nimeksarika. Hakuna kilichofanyika. Iliniuma mpaka sasa. Hata tuliachana hivyo. Ukiitwa mahali angalia budget bwana,” Mukangai advised.
