Student Kidnaps self, Returns Home 4 Days Later!

Joseph Odhiambo,22, a Form Four from Kamunda Secondary School in Awendo, Migori County has been arrested for faking his kidnapping and demanding Ksh. 20,000 ransom from his mother claiming his life was in danger.

The Form Four student claimed to have been abducted by unknown individuals on January 5, 2023.

Four days after the claims, he returned home covered in blood stains claiming that his abductors had beaten  him up.

However his mother frog-marched him to Awendo police station after admitting that his alleged kidnapping was fake.

After further interrogations, he confessed to buying cow blood from a local butchery and staining his clothes to give an impression that he had indeed been kidnapped.
