Chiloba Killer Suspects Plead With Court To Release Them On Bond

Jackton Odhiambo, the Prime suspect in the murder of LGBTQ activist and model Edwin Kiprotich Kiptoo alias Chiloba has requested the court to release him on bond so as to feed his family.
While appearing before a Court in Eldoret, Odhiambo informed the court that his family solemnly depend on him and will not survive if he remains in custody.
“I request to be released on bond so that I can continue with my work to support my family,” he said.
On Monday, an Eldoret court allowed police to detain five suspects as part of a probe into the murder of Chiloba for 21 days.
Senior Principal Richard Odenyo granted the DCI 21 days to hold the suspects in order to facilitate completion of investigations.
The five include Jacktone Odhiambo, the prime suspect, along with three other underage suspects.
Stephen Mumba, Eldoret South DCI boss, made an application seeking to hold the suspects for investigations to be completed.
The LGBTQ activist’s body was found stashed in a metallic box in the Mogombet area of Kapsaret in Uasin Gishu County.
According to the source, a Bodaboda rider spotted a vehicle that was numberless dropping the metal box along the Kipenyo – Kaptinga road.
The matter was reported to Uasin Gishu police who arrived at the scene and upon opening the box, a decomposing body of a man dressed in a woman’s clothes was found inside.
