I Slept In Tailor’s Shop For Months, Oga Obinna Sheds Tears While Reminiscing Tough Growing

Former Kiss 100 radio presenter Oga Obinna has taken his fans down the memory lane after revealing the sad and tough upbringing he had while growing up.

The former show host who is one of the most successful public figures in Kenya disclosed that life was never smooth for him as he grew up in Maseno many moons ago.

Making the revelation as he spoke to a guest on his YouTube Show, the comic reminisced on the days he slept inside a tailor’s shop for a number of months after quitting school and running away from home.

Oga Obinna’s And The Tailor Shop

According to the star, his primary school best friend offered him shelter ah his father’s place of work where he used to sleep too.

The comedian revealed how the friend would sneak him into his father’s shop every night, where they would transnight knitting skirts and dresses for their village girlfriends.

He noted that the moment was one of his lowest as he had lost hope and was leading a very life-threatening lifestyle, characterised with absconding school, poverty and all manner of demeaning experiences.

”You know even me, in 2005 I slept in a tailor’s shop, that is one thing we have in common. My best friend’s father used to have a workplace. She he would wait until his father had gone to the house and he would sneak me in. Then, I would run away from home and even quit school, so I had nowhere to go. We would listen to No Air by Chris Brown and say, ‘One day we will make it,’. We would knit skirts and dresses for our girls the entire night. And that is how we used to sleep on customers’ fabric.” He disclosed.

The entertainer wrapped up by thanking God for blessing him with a good life years later and shed tears of joy while at it.

Obi reiterated that he worked hard for everything he is enjoying today and did not get it easily as many people think.
