Teenager Defiles Grandmother Over Ksh. 290 Debt
Police in Otuke District are on a hunt for an 18-year-old teenager for allegedly raping a 75-year-old woman over an unpaid debt of Ksh290 that she acquired on New Year’s Day.
According to police, the victim, also a resident of Alemu Village was on her home from Okolia Trading Centre when the unfortunate incident happened to her.

The suspect is said to have asked the old lady for the money which was payment for the pork she took on credit. She, however, didn’t have the money to clear the debt, prompting the suspect to slap her to the ground.
“The suspect later strangled her and forcefully had sex with her, though she raised alarm for help,” North Kyoga regional police spokesperson, Okema Jimmy Patrick revealed in a statement.
One of the eyewitnesses Awidi Harriet was the first to reach the crime scene and she narrates that she caught the suspect redhanded lying on the helpless old woman. It was at that point that he ran away after committing the horrendous crime.

“A report was registered at Otuke Central Police Station. The crime scene visited by detectives and Scene of Crime Officer while statements have also been recorded from relevant witnesses,” Okema spoke to Monitor.
Police Form 3A had been submitted at Orum Health Center IV to have the victim taken for medical examination.
“The suspect is still on the run but efforts to have him apprehended are ongoing,” police stated.
