Husband Thoroughly Beats Wife For Sneaking Around With Ex
Makanga was remanded at Luzira Maximum Prison for severely beating up his wife and destroying her phone
Luzira Maximum Prison is holding in custody a man on charges of severely beating up his wife and spoiling her phone after she had an affair outside their marriage.
Makanga William 37, a resident of Nateete Factory Zone, Lubaga Municipality stood before Grade One Magistrate Judge Byarugaba Adams who charged him of assault and destruction of property belonging to his wife, Namara Janat.
The court heard that the couple had been in an on and off relationship for a long time with Makanga always accusing Namara of having extra marital affairs with her ex, ignoring his warnings.
On December 28th, 2023, during lunch time, Makanga who was in the bathroom doing his laundry, heard his wife in the bedroom speaking on phone with another man.

He attacked Namara, beating her to pulp and destroying the phone she was using to talk to her said lover.
Namara screamed for help attracting the attention of the neighbors.
Makanga was arrested and whisked away to Nateete police where charges of assault and battery were slapped against him under file number CRB;027/2024.
As he pled guilty to the charges slapped against him, Makanga lamented on how far his wife had gone to taunt him to the extent that she used her ex boyfriend’s photo as her wallpaper on her phone despite him complaining about it.

Namara is also accused of taking another phone calls in front of her husband, a sign that she was tired of the union.
In her defense, Namara revealed that on that particular day of the assault, she was talking to her mother and after opened TikTok. That is when Makanga beat her up for no reason.
Judge Byarugaba sent Makanga on remand until January 25, 2024 for sentencing.
