Popular City Pastor Aloysius Bugingo Shot, Bodyguard Killed.
The Old Kampala Police has launched an investigation into the attempted murder of popular city pastor Aloysius Bugingo that claimed the life of his bodyguard and driver, Richard Muhumuza.
The incident happened last night (January 2, 2024) at approximately 9.00 PM, and according to preliminary police findings, unknown assailants who were riding a motorcycle attacked the House of Prayer Ministry lead pastor’s car with a personalized number plate PRAIZ GOD and opened fire before swiftly escaping the scene.
This happened along Namungoona, Zone 2, Kasubi Rubaga Division Kampala at Bwalakata Junction along National Housing Road.

Despite Pastor Bugingo sustaining injuries during the attack, he managed to drive his vehicle straight to Mulago Referral Hospital where Muhumuza, his bodyguard was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police responded to the call and covered the crime scene but discovered that it had been tampered with. They managed to collect various statements from the eyewitnesses.
‘’In our active pursuit of justice, we are thoroughly reviewing CCTV footage to identify the assailants. Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available,’’ KMP deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire said.
The pastor is currently being monitored by doctors and undergoing medical treatment.
The deceased’s body has been conveyed to the City Mortuary at Mulago for a thorough postmortem examination.
