Man Allegedly Takes Own Life After Losing 2.5M To Betting

A Facebook user identified as Onoh Chukwuma on Tuesday reportedly took his own life by taking an insecticide after allegedly losing N2.5m to betting.
Onoh had on his Facebook account posted a message saying that it was his last day on earth and that he was going to meet his maker.
Unknown to those reading the post, he had already consumed the insecticide before making the announcement. In his post, he wrote: “Today is my last day on earth! I’m going to meet my maker. Thank you”

Upon learning of his distress, friends went to his house where they found him lying on the floor unconscious.
They rushed Onoh to Madonna Hospital, Umuahia. However, efforts of doctors trying to resuscitate him bore no fruits thus his demise.

Onoh had confessed of addiction to gambling. It was reported that he had allegedly lost N2.5m converted into Kenya Shillings is 485,250 thousand to betting and could not bear the shame and pressure from those he borrowed money from.
