Lakers Corner Capital Braves In Malawi
Lakers hockey club trounced Capital Braves 15-0 during their third match of the African Cup for Club Champions (ACCC) on Monday mid-morning at Blantyre, Malawi.
The Kisumu-based dols began their ten-day 25th edition of the continental tournament with a 12-0 victory against the host’s Scorpions on Saturday before sharing spoils (0-0) with their home rivalry Blazers during their second match on Sunday.
Super captain Alice Aoko Owiti, Gilly Okumu and Debra Achieng Otieno scored a hat-trick each, Lynne Mumbi netting a brace while Pauline Ochieng, Aurelia Atieno Opondo, Elizabeth O. Awuor and Agneta Nafula Okumu topping one each.

Owiti and Ochieng converted penalties in the first and 48th minute respectively while the other thirteen goals were field goals.
Lakers took charge from the first minute to the final period.
Endless efforts from opponents forward Amina Issa and Enifa Kaphera were well controlled by the Austine Tujus’ coached side denying them a consolidation goal.

Braves failed to utilize the few fouls that could make a comeback as all flicks went wide.
Five minutes to half-time hosts midfielder Chimwewe Chilima was outlawed for the unfair tackle.
The victory set them on log apex with seven points.

Lakers will play Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in their fourth match, in mid-morning tomorrow.
Late evening today, Blazers will face Scorpion of Malawi while Kampala of Uganda hosts the Michael Malungu coached side Western Jaguars.
