Davide Renne Dies At 46

Italian fashion designer Davide Renne, who had recently assumed the position of Moschino’s creative director, tragically passed away at the age of 46, just nine days into his new role.
The Chairman of Aeffe, Moschino’s parent company, Massimo Ferretti, announced the news through a statement on the fashion label’s Instagram.
“There are no words to describe the pain we are experiencing at this dramatic time. Davide joined us only a few days ago, when a sudden illness took him from us too soon. We still can’t believe what happened,” Ferretti said.

Despite the brief duration of Renne’s tenure, Ferretti highlighted the ambitious project they were collaboratively working on, capturing an atmosphere of enthusiasm and optimism for the future.
“Even though he was only with us for a very short time, Davide was able to immediately make himself loved and respected. Today we are left with the responsibility of carrying on what his imagination and creativity had only envisioned. Our deepest sympathies go to his family and friends.”
Renne assumed the position of creative director on November 1. and he was due to debut his first collection for Moschino at Milan Fashion Week in February.

Before joining Moschino, Renne had an illustrious career at Gucci, where he served as the head of womenswear for over two decades, eventually rising to the position of head designer of womenswear.
The fashion industry mourns the loss of a talented individual whose impact was felt even in the short span of his time at Moschino.
