Woman Strangles Co-Wife’s Baby To Death
A ruthless woman on Salama Road was arrested for murdering her co-wife’s daughter to death and slept with her dead body in the same bed.
The cruel crime happened in broad daylight when 21-year-old Birungi Ruth strangled Nakitto Keira 7, and locked the corpse in the house yesterday evening.
According to Kyomuhendo Kruish, the mother of the deceased, she received a phone call from her brother Atugonza Moses saying Birungi had informed him that her baby had passed out. They rushed to her home to see how they could help the child and when they got there, her house was locked.

They knocked on the door and when Birungi opened up, she told them how the toddler was lying lifeless and could not respond to anything. Kyomuhendo rushed the baby to the hospital where the doctors told her that she brought in a dead child.
After getting the news, residents hunted her down Birungi with an aim of lynching her until they found her hiding at her parents’ home in Kibuli. With the help of the police, the suspect was taken to Kibuli police post where she is currently being held.
Upon examination of Nakitto’s corpse, it was discovered that she suffered blunt force trauma on the head and other wounds on the body. It was after the injury on the head that the ruthless stepmother strangled to death the toddler.

The dead body was transported to Mulago City Mortuary.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Onyango Patrick confirmed Birungi’s arrest, saying she would be charged with murder.
