Lady Turns Orange After Eating Carrots For Three Months
Weight loss is surrounded by different diets and crazy remedies. We’ve all heard of ethanol / chang’aa consumption diet, avoiding sugary things, green vegetable diets and daily runnings for weight loss.
Here, a Chinese woman who had overweight issues, was prescribed to eat 200 – 500 grammes of carrots a day to reduce but the results turned shocking.
According to her, she used to prepare carrots and coat with some tumeric for flavour and speed weight loss.
However, the diet which she started on July, ended up making her body turn orange.
On Weibo, Chinese (X) or social platform, White Deer shared a video of the lady alleging discovering her orange skin on China’s National Day- Holiday.

She shared her skin changes with friends who also discovered the changes on her skin and advised her to seek medical attention.
On medical checkup, the doctor told the lady that her skin changes had been brought about by consuming lots of carrots.
She was advised to avoid “coloured foods” and consume a lot of water to bring her skin colour to normalcy.

Unbeknownst to many, the lady’s condition was described as Carotenemia. This is a skin condition caused by eating much carrots making the skin turn orange.
When a person consumes excess amount of beta-carotene, the small intestine is unable to convert it all into Vitamin A, and instead circulates in the bloodstream, causing the skin to change its colour as it happened to the woman.
