Gachagua Donates Ksh. 2.1M Towards Heart-To-Heart Walk.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has donated Ksh. 2.1 M in support of the heart-to-heart walk.
The second in command who was accompanied by Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris and Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o, noted that the walk was in line with their administration’s agenda as he praised Karen Hospital for its compassion and resilience towards saving over 200,000 Children with heart complications .
“The Karen Hospital Heart to Heart Run has, for the last 30 years, become a symbol of compassion, resilience, and hope for children and families affected by congenital and rheumatic heart diseases.”
He praised the Hospital’s effort in easing the burden laid on families whose children have heart conditions while announcing his contribution.
“Open heart surgery at KNH costs between 350,000 to 450,00 while close heart surgery ranges between Ksh150,000 to Ksh250,000. The cost may increase after the procedure. I have raised Ksh2.1 million for this course, ” he announced.
He later participated in a walk with the children before leaving for Meru where he is to meet the head of state.
