Onyango’s Simba SC Knocked Out Of CAF Championship

Tanzania’s Football giant Simba SC, are out Africa Champions League after losing to Morocco’s Club Wydad on penalty shoot out. Simba went Down  4-3. Simba finished 90 minutes trailing by 1-0, which levelled the tie after an aggregate 1-1 draw in two quarter final matches.

 

Wydad Casablanca goalkeeper Youssef el Motie was the hero after saving Two penalties from Clotous Chama And shomari Kapombe while the their opponents converted all the four taken sport kicks

 

In a fully packed 45,000 seater  Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca, the Moroccan outfit won the quarter-final second leg 1-0 thanks to a 24th-minute goal from Senegalese starBouly Sambou.

 

The result in Casablanca levelled the aggregate score at 1-1 after Simba had built a 1-0 lead following the first leg in Dar es Salaam last weekend.

 

Simba SC is the home of Kenyan International Joash Onyango.

 

El Motie, deputising for injured Ahmed Tagnaouti, saved the third and fifth Simba spot kicks taken by Shomari Kapombe and Zambian Clatous Chama, while Wydad converted the four they took.

 

 

More CAF semi finals are line up today when South African Champions Mamelodi Sundowns will be welcoming CD Belouizdad where the Algerian side will have an uphill task of converting last week 4-1 in Johannesburg.

 

 

Esperance Of Tunisia will be hosting Neighbours from Algeria Kabylie while Egyptian Giant Al Ahly will be Morocco for a showdown with Raja Casablanca
