Final Year University Student Beaten To Death Over Alleged Theft

A  University student has been lynched to death by an angry mob over alleged theft.

Okoli Ahize, a final-year Engineering student at Obafemi Awolowo University according to reports was killed by  angry students students who  descended on him after he was found stealing a mobile phone.

While confirming the incident, the institutions Public officer admitted that the death resulted from an angry mob. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adebayo Bamire, on the other hand was saddened by the unfortunate event revealing  investigation was to be launched  on the matter

“The action of the mob, being a violation of the law of the country and of the University regulations, has been reported to the police who have commenced investigations.

“The University administration hereby commiserates with the parents of the deceased, staff and students, and prays that God will grant us the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
