Five Shot In A Fresh Bandit Attack In West Pokot
Five people were on Thursday evening killed after heavily armed bandits attacked Lami Nyeusi village in West Pokot County while another person is seriously nursing gunshot wounds following a daring attack in the area.
The deadly bandits would later flee with over 19 goals to an unknown location. according to the locals, the Rustlers have been on a revenge mission.
The five people who were fatally shot are said to be asleep when the attackers pounced. The sixth person, a woman, was seriously injured police said.
According to an eyewitness, the attackers struck at about 2 a.m while heavily armed.
West Pokot County Commissioner Apollo Okelo said a team of security officers have swiftly been sent to the neighbouring area of Kainuk to track down the bandits.
It is the latest attack in a region that is under an ongoing security operation.
